With summer approaching, this is a great time for fruit carving. Does anyone have new pictures to share? How about new recipes or ideas?

Hey Maria, I started to play around with honeydews to start. They seem to be easir to cut than a watermelon. Have fun with it. Just remember that any mistakes make great fruit salads.

Hello again Maria, like I said before, I am just a novice carver and do it mostly to entertain myself and friends. Following is a post I made to Leatha a few weeks back. I hope it helps. BTW, look in the "videos" section of this site for other videos that demonstrate how to do some carvings.

Good to hear from you Leatha and I'm glad you liked the baby carriage watermelon carving. You can do it be cause it is EASY to do. There is not a lot of intricate detail. All you will need is a melon, grapes, an orange, a fruit baller and a very sharp knife. I learned how to do it by watching a video on YouTube. Just type in YouTube in your browser then search for "Baby Carriage Carving". I think it is a 2-part video but it is so simple and your friends will be amazed at your talent. I hope you have fun with it and enjoy your day!

Hi, Ron, no I don't. I actually don't know how to carve fruit like that, but find it quite interesting, and wonder how people do those type of things. I would like to learn though. Do you do this type of work for a business?

Maria - Do you have any pictures of your work?
