Does anyone have experience with POS systems in a senior living setting that can offer some recommendations? Please follow the link to the current discussion.

I just switched from Javo to Autocrat liquid coffee. The liquid coffee concentrates have many positives. No waste, user on demand system, no theft of ground coffee packets. Javo is a refrigerated concentrate available through US Foods. I had multiple issues with the machines, as they needed a refrigerated system. On the average, I had the service tech in my facility every 6 weeks. The Autocrat system has a shelf stable product. Therefore the machines don't need a refrigeration sytem in them, and have less problems. In addition, the cost is about 1/3 less than the Javo system. I Highly recommend it!!

I know what you mean, there is nothing like the smell of fresh brewed coffee... so what we have done is started a "coffee club" in the activity room, where I put a normal coffee machine so they can have the freshly brewed coffee aroma etc. We buy "Tim Hortons" and specialty coffees for them to enjoy during this social gathering.

I USE FRESH BEANS. WE HAVE AN AUTOMATIC GRINDER. IT IS SET UP WITH THE COFFEE MACHINE. OUR RESIDENTS LOVE IT. THE COST OF THE BEANS IS $96.11 FOR 20# OF COLUMBIAN BEANS. I WOULD NEVER USE ANYTHING ELSE NOW. I'VE USED TASTER CHOICE AND NESTLE IN THE PAST. THEY ARE NOT EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS THE FRESH GROUND BEANS.

I am at a 80 bed LTC and the resident's love the smell of the coffee brewing in the morning, just like home. I'll stay with brewed coffee for now.
